Knight Stars is comprised of a celebratory theme and soothing lullaby. It paints pictures of a knight on a quest with a respite before continuing the journey again! This work gives directors the educational opportunity to teach about meters. A single 2/4 measure occurs during a phrase in the a 4/4 section of the work in which the brass and percussion sections are featured, and the woodwinds are featured in the second section in 3/4 time. The highest note in the first trumpet part is a fourth line D (concert C in the 5th octave) and the 1st clarinet part does go over the break. An exercise is included at the back with the melody written out for all instruments to play! Thank you for the following programs for commissioning this work:
