HALEY WOODROW

COMPOSER, ARRANGER, EDUCATOR

For the Love of Pets

A New Band Consortium

When I was teaching high school band, a few times a year, I would get an email from a parent letting me know their child was grieving the loss of a family pet. Each time, I felt helpless. When it happened in my own family recently, it seemed unbearable. With this piece, I hope to offer solace, empathy, and hope to those who have experienced the loss of a beloved pet. I also wish to give all who listen an opportunity to celebrate how their lives were enriched by their furry (or not so furry) family member through music.

Darla McBryde, Consortium Director
