In the Spring of 2020, I like many of us, found myself with time on my hands due to being in lockdown from COVID-19. The worldwide pestilence caused much hardship, but as I wrote the music for this composition I was encouraged by this verse:

“For the Lord will not cast off forever, but, though he causes grief, he will have compassion according to the abundance of his steadfast love; for he does not afflict from his heart or grieve the children of men” Lamentation 3:31-33

Though we have pain and suffer, we can place our faith in the compassion of the Lord and His steadfast love. Yesterday may have had its woes, but our brightest days are ahead!
